Looking at colour

Its history, its nuances, its lights, its shades, its tone and mixtures. With paint, chalk, pencils and other tools, the children will test all the ways of creating colour.

Looking at supports

How are supports chosen? Are there good or bad supports? Can everything become a support? In the workshop the children will be able to try to answer these questions.

Looking at tools

The hand is man's first tool but we can permanently extend it. Brushes, pastels, chalks and also charcoal among others all have their own use. The children will be able to test them so as to choose the one which will best extend their hands. These three workshops will be held every Wednesday and Saturdays mornings.

Wednesday and saturdays afternoon

The children will prepare their own snacks at the beginning of session, in the host's kitchen. We will then go down to the workshop to while the snacks are cooking.

At the end of the workshop, the children will taste their culinary achievements. For each themed workshop, a booklet will be also created and will include images of artist's paintings and a brief historical summary which the children will work on using the Internet.

The self-portrait

With the help of a mirror and a photograph, the children will make sketches, which they will then use to create a large scale self portrait. (large format). This workshop requires a great sense of the observation and concentration, it will allow children to include/understand the concepts of proportion, detail and overall picture.

Natural way

The children will choose objects in workshop to create a composition. They will choose their tool and their support to visually reproduce their composition. The concepts of perspective, assembly of the colors (first and second plan…) and of organization in space will be approached in this workshop.

The comic strip

The children write their story, draw the decorations and the characters. They will organize their comic strip on the computer to finalize it. In this workshop all the means of creation are approached, writing, drawing and data processing.

For each themed workshop, a booklet will be also carried out with paintings of artists and a small history which the children will work on using the Internet.
